{"id":19544,"date":"2026-03-10T08:52:48","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:52:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/performancechassepeche.ca\/?page_id=19544"},"modified":"2026-06-17T09:56:40","modified_gmt":"2026-06-17T13:56:40","slug":"firearm-and-ammunition-sales-policy","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/performancechassepeche.ca\/en\/firearm-and-ammunition-sales-policy\/","title":{"rendered":"Firearm and Ammunition Sales Policy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Performance Chasse P\u00eache inc., we apply the rules in force in Canada and Quebec for any sale of firearms or ammunition.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Canada, a firearm can only be transferred to:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an adult (18 years of age and older) holding a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for the class of weapons in question;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a business, museum or other organization that holds a firearms business licence; or<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a public service agency \u2013 police force, police academy, certain government departments or agencies, etc.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We hold a valid business licence for the sale and maintenance of non-restricted firearms.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Canada&#8217;s Non-Restricted Firearms Act states that:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is not necessary to register non-restricted firearms. However, before transferring a non-restricted firearm, the transferor (seller) must obtain confirmation from the Registrar of Firearms that the transferee (buyer) is the holder of a licence, and that he or she is still entitled to hold a licence, which authorizes him or her to acquire a non-restricted firearm. To do this, they must request a <\/span><\/i><b><i>reference number<\/i><\/b><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The transfer of a non-restricted firearm can only take place after a reference number has been assigned. The reference number is valid for ninety (90) days or for the period during which the transferee&#8217;s (purchaser&#8217;s) licence is still valid. If a reference number expires before the physical transfer of the firearm, a new reference number must be requested.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Non-restricted firearms do not need to be registered, except in Quebec. Residents of Quebec can access the Firearms Registration Service (SIAF), which allows them to apply for the registration of a firearm in Quebec.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>To purchase a firearm or ammunition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on the Performance Chasse P\u00eache website, you will need to provide the following information:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Valid Possession and Acquisition Card Number and Expiration Date<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your date of birth<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your email address<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A phone number<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A residential address in Canada<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The reference number issued when verifying your PAL card will be kept on file. However, if you want to know it, you can contact us at <\/span><a href=\"mailto:info@performancechassepeche.ca\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">info@performancechassepeche.ca<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the event that the reference number is not assigned by the RCMP Firearms Program, the order will be refunded in full. Performance Chasse P\u00eache inc. disclaims any responsibility for this refusal and cannot interfere in this decision.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The Quebec law for the sale of firearms to an individual stipulates that:<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you wish to dispose of one or more firearms, you can transfer ownership to a citizen or another business (donation or sale). A notice of transfer must be submitted as soon as the company that owns the registered firearm returns it to the purchaser and it is no longer in their possession. The law does not allow any delay.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To send a notice of transfer of ownership of a firearm, the business must provide the following information:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">name of the company&#8217;s representative (seller or transferor);<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">name, address, telephone number, email address of the new owner (buyer or purchaser) and fax number, if applicable;<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unique Firearm Number (NUAF) of the transferred firearm<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">firearm registration number (FIIN) that had been assigned to the current owner.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Performance Chasse P\u00eache inc. will transfer the registration of the firearm (NIAF), according to the law in force in Quebec, within 1 to 4 days of the order on the website and after obtaining the RCMP reference number (see the Canadian law mentioned
