At Performance Chasse Pêche inc., we apply the rules in force in Canada and Quebec for any sale of firearms or ammunition.
In Canada, a firearm can only be transferred to:
- an adult (18 years of age and older) holding a valid Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL) for the class of weapons in question;
- a business, museum or other organization that holds a firearms business licence; or
- a public service agency – police force, police academy, certain government departments or agencies, etc.
We hold a valid business licence for the sale and maintenance of non-restricted firearms.
Canada’s Non-Restricted Firearms Act states that:
It is not necessary to register non-restricted firearms. However, before transferring a non-restricted firearm, the transferor (seller) must obtain confirmation from the Registrar of Firearms that the transferee (buyer) is the holder of a licence, and that he or she is still entitled to hold a licence, which authorizes him or her to acquire a non-restricted firearm. To do this, they must request a reference number.
The transfer of a non-restricted firearm can only take place after a reference number has been assigned. The reference number is valid for ninety (90) days or for the period during which the transferee’s (purchaser’s) licence is still valid. If a reference number expires before the physical transfer of the firearm, a new reference number must be requested.
Non-restricted firearms do not need to be registered, except in Quebec. Residents of Quebec can access the Firearms Registration Service (SIAF), which allows them to apply for the registration of a firearm in Quebec.
To purchase a firearm or ammunition on the Performance Chasse Pêche website, you will need to provide the following information:
- Valid Possession and Acquisition Card Number and Expiration Date
- Your date of birth
- Your email address
- A phone number
- A residential address in Canada
The reference number issued when verifying your PAL card will be kept on file. However, if you want to know it, you can contact us at info@performancechassepeche.ca.
In the event that the reference number is not assigned by the RCMP Firearms Program, the order will be refunded in full. Performance Chasse Pêche inc. disclaims any responsibility for this refusal and cannot interfere in this decision.
The Quebec law for the sale of firearms to an individual stipulates that:
If you wish to dispose of one or more firearms, you can transfer ownership to a citizen or another business (donation or sale). A notice of transfer must be submitted as soon as the company that owns the registered firearm returns it to the purchaser and it is no longer in their possession. The law does not allow any delay.
To send a notice of transfer of ownership of a firearm, the business must provide the following information:
- name of the company’s representative (seller or transferor);
- name, address, telephone number, email address of the new owner (buyer or purchaser) and fax number, if applicable;
- Unique Firearm Number (NUAF) of the transferred firearm
- firearm registration number (FIIN) that had been assigned to the current owner.
Performance Chasse Pêche inc. will transfer the registration of the firearm (NIAF), according to the law in force in Quebec, within 1 to 4 days of the order on the website and after obtaining the RCMP reference number (see the Canadian law mentioned above).
